Family Therapy
Serving Georgia and MinnesotaFamily Therapy
Family relationships can be a source of deep joy or deep pain. And when conflicts repeat or disconnection grows, it can feel difficult to know how to move towards joy rather than pain.
Family therapy is a collaborative process that explores the relational dynamics, communication patterns, and emotional histories shaping your family as a whole. Rather than focusing on one individual, it holds the entire system in view.
We utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and integrate a Psychodynamic approach to support you in cultivating an emotionally safe environment, strengthen connection, and fostering deeper understanding and resilience.
Family therapy is open to all dynamics within the family unit for persons 18 years and older.
Areas of Support
-
Ongoing disagreements, unresolved hurt, or longstanding tension can create distance within a family. Family therapy can help identify patterns that contribute to conflict, create space for each person’s experience, and work toward more constructive ways of relating.
-
Periods of distance or estrangement can develop after years of unresolved hurt, conflict, or unmet needs. Family therapy can provide a structured space to explore what has created the distance and determine whether and how family members want to move toward repair and reconnection.
-
Loss can change family relationships and affect each person differently. Family therapy can provide space to process grief together, navigate differences in how family members cope, and support one another through change.
-
Marriage, divorce, caregiving, loss, relocation, changes in family roles, and other major life transitions can affect the entire family system. Family therapy can help family members navigate these changes while adjusting to new roles and expectations.
-
Family patterns can be passed down and repeated across generations, influencing communication, conflict, emotional expression, and expectations within relationships. Family therapy can help bring awareness to these patterns and create opportunities to relate differently.
-
Depression can feel like emotional heaviness, numbness, low motivation, or disconnection from yourself and others. It may impact energy, self-worth, and enjoyment of life. Therapy offers a supportive space to explore what’s beneath the sadness, restore hope, and gently reconnect with meaning, vitality, and self-compassion.
-
Unclear or difficult boundaries can create resentment, tension, or feelings of obligation within adult family relationships. Family therapy can help family members establish healthier boundaries, clarify expectations, and navigate changing roles while maintaining connection.
